Yup. We’re moving again. This might seem soon to you guys, but we knew it was coming. John is only at Fort Jackson for a class, and that class graduates in November. Which means, since Fort Jackson wasn’t an option for his next assignment, we have to move again.
But, exciting news! We’re going on an adventure! To where, you ask? GERMANY, BITCHES! Yeah, that’s right. Deuces, America, the Panzers are going to kick it like Hasselhoff! Or something.
Alternate ways I was going to entitle this post:
- Well, I guess Blog Her ’14 is out…
- DUDES, GERMANY. OMG!
- Umzug nach Deutschland, Hündinnen! (Which is as close to “Moving to Germany, Bitches!” as I could make Google Translate give me…)
- How soon do you think I’m going to buy lederhosen for the boys?
- Oktoberfest 2014 is going to be totally legit!
So yeah, excited. John got his RFO recently, which means that the EFMP office signed off on the move, so yay! The Munchkin will get his services (Although I’m not sure if they’ll have ABA; they’ll at least have speech, occupational therapy, and a special ed class for him.) We’ve got toooons of things to do, only some of which are being delayed by this whole government shutdown thing. Luckily, there is enough to do that I’m not worried about any delays…yet.
One of the things I’m doing is looking at houses! Yay! So fun! I made the bad move of looking before we had a definite budget set, so I saw all of these amazing dream houses that are way out of our price range. BUT I did find a few gems that we can actually look at seriously:
Look at that big one, I mean come on! They didn’t have any pictures of the inside on the listing, which I think is pretty sketchy, but how bad could it be? It might be a little early to start looking, but maybe not? Pretending the government shutdown isn’t happening, then we would move sometime in late November or early December. That’s right! Soon! I’m not really sure how the housing works when you move overseas. I know (think?) that army people will go look at the house to make sure that everything is on the up and up, but do we accept it after they’re ok? Things I have to ask John.
Looks like we’ll be spending Christmas this year in a German hotel! O.o I will now take suggestions on guest post topics so that my blog doesn’t die for a month like it did for the last move. I’m thinking funny moving or moving horror stories. The best and the worst of moving. Good idea?
