Sorry the blog has been quiet this week. The Bean and I have been trading colds back and forth, so I haven’t had the energy for much. Seriously. Last night, we all slept on the couch because I didn’t feel like going through the effort of the bedtime routine. Terrible mom, or awesome mom? I guess it depends on who you ask. The Munchkin thought it was awesome.
On top of all that, my classes started up this week. That’s right, I’m going back to school. A while ago, I decided to get my masters in special education, and after a lot of school searching, finally decided on classes at Grand Canyon University. I ended up going with them mainly because I can take the classes 100% online, so I’ll be good no matter where we move, whenever we move next. I’m taking one class at a time, so it shouldn’t be too bad. I am a little nervous though; I feel like I have to rewire my brain. It’s been almost ten years since I’ve been in school! I don’t think that way any more! I should finish up in 2016 though. I can’t wait for the field work to start. Exciting!
Speaking of exciting, I have even bigger news… I’ve been hiding something from you guys.
I’M PREGNANT AGAIN, and I have been for twenty-two weeks. AND IT’S (SHE’S?) A GIRL!!! Ha, last time I waited twenty-six weeks to tell you guys, so I’m early this time! I guess I just like to wait until we know the sex of the baby before breaking the news.
I’m very fortunate that this pregnancy has been easy for the most part. My first trimester didn’t have any morning sickness, or much in the way of nausea, at all. Nothing that couldn’t be solved with some ginger ale and a good burp, haha. Once that subsided, winter came and all of our illnesses, but that’s been the only really hard part. I haven’t been quite as good at recovering from all of that as I think I would be normally. I have also had some pretty annoying hip joint pain, and lots of charlie horses. But overall, not too bad of a pregnancy. It’s business as usual most days. Everyone kept telling me that it was going to be a girl since this pregnancy was sooo different from my other ones, but I was like “I’m going to need more than that.” Even once I got the evidence, I made the ultrasound tech double check. I was like “This is going to be the first grand daughter. People are going to lose their minds. I can’t have this baby popping out and ending up a boy.” Fingers crossed that technology works!
Meet Lil Miss, you guys. She lives in my belly. So, pregnant the whole time John’s been gone, (I’ve been pregnant since July, people!) solo parenting, taking masters classes, and navigating through the holiday season. Yup, nope, no big deal. Did I also mention ever that we’re driving to Florida next month for my sister’s wedding? Yeah, when I take life on, I take it ON! Ending 2014 with a BANG!
