My student teaching started last week and with that came work-wear. Dresses, tunics, blouses, dress pants, the whole bit. It’s quite the drastic change from my stay at home mom life. One of the things I’m struggling with is breaking out dresses that I used to wear back when I used to work; before I had kids. They’re all so short! Not club short, but short enough that they require leggings or tights underneath. Also, it’s January, so the temperatures outside require this as well. Which brings me to a conundrum in the mornings. Which do I wear? Leggings or tights? I decided to compare the two to see if one was better than the other.
Full disclosure, while I came up with this idea on my own, Theresa S. gave me a pair of cranberry LuLaRoe leggings for free, to be included in this review. So, I will be reviewing a pair of LuLaRoe leggings and a pair of tights from Target.
However, this freebie did not chance my opinions.
I wore each pair of legwear during a day at school. I did a lot of walking, sitting, and squatting while working with students. Both pieces stood up to the test, but I felt more comfortable in the leggings. With the tights, I felt like I had to be more conscious of how I was sitting. With the leggings, I only felt like I had to be conscious of my slip when I walked.
Thanks to Theresa S. for providing the leggings for this review. If you want to buy a pair of your own, please stop by her facebook group and check out when she has her next sale. If you use the coupon code “Creative”, you can get a discount off of your first purchase with her, and she’ll know I sent you. I can’t post that deal here, but you can either ask her about it over on facebook, or send me a message on instagram.
In conclusion, the LuLaRoe won out. For my job as a teacher, leggings are just more practical. HOWEVER, I will continue to wear both, as not every occasion (or dress) is quite fitting for a pair of leggings.
